CHAPTER ONE-THE MAN WHO DESIRED GOLD
CHAPTER
ONE –THE MAN WHO DESIRED GOLD
Basir is a muscular man , he has all the strength to
make money, yet money is not to be found in the hands of a man with strength
only; as the writer puts it ‘Nevertheless, his fat, muscular body sat stolidly
upon the wall…’
It is true that
a poor man cannot be of any help to his friends as Basir was so broke that he
was unable lend his friend Kobbi two shekels. Wishes and mere desires and
nothing more cannot make a man rich.
Basir and Kobbi can be compared in our contemporary
society as two friends who graduated, got a good job and saw a lot of money in
their youth and are wondering why the money is not flowing in like before; most
especially now that age and time are no longer on their side .’We have earned
much coin in the years that have passed, yet to know the joys that come from
wealth, we must dream about them. Bah! Are we more than dump sheep?’
Basir and his
friend Kobbi are both professionals at their various endeavors. They were rated
the best but they wondered why they were still poor. They thought they ought to
be wealthy because they are very hardworking. In conclusion, they realized that
there must be a way to learn how to acquire gold (money). “Might we not find
out how others acquire gold and do as they do?” Kobbi inquired.
“Perhaps there
is some secret we might learn if we but sought from those who knew” replied
Basir thoughtfully.
Then they
thought about their friend Arkad, who was acclaimed to be the rich est in the country. They decided to approach
him.”It costs nothing to ask wise advise from a good friend and Arkad was
always that…”
MY THOUGHTS
-Wealth comes to
those who are not comfortable with just little.
-Their lives
took a dimension when they sought after wealth and not just living passively.
-get what you go
after.
-Information is very
fundamental is what makes all the difference. Hard work is good but hard work
without financial wisdom equals to poverty. wealth must first be desired and
sought after .
QUESTION: “A man’s wealth is not in the purse he
carries. A fat purse quickly empties if there be no golden stream to refill
it.” Who made this statement and to
whom was it made?
