CHAPTER FOUR. MEET THE GODDESS OF GOODLUCK

The author started this chapter by quoting a Babylonian proverb which says ‘if a man be lucky, there is no foretelling the possible extent of his good fortune. Pitch him into the Euphrates and like as not he will swim out with a pearl in his hands’
The crux of the matter in this chapter is knowing how to attract good luck. Good luck can not come to those who gamble and bet on horses and procrastinators. Good luck doesn’t come to those who are stubborn and are prone to vacillate and let opportunity to pass them by.
The author tries to give a succinct definition of what good luck really is . Good luck only comes to those who are diligent and hard working. Another way of attracting good luck to yourself in business transactions is to  always apply the wisdom of making payment immediately when we are convinced our bargain is wise. Taking advantage of opportunities also attracts good luck to oneself. In other words good luck can be enticed by accepting opportunity.
According to the author men of action are favored by the goddess of good luck as he explains,’
Those eager to grasp opportunities for their betterment, do attract the interest of the good godess. She is ever anxious  to aid those who please her. Men of action please her best. Action will lead thee forward to the success thou dost desire’.

MY THOUGHTS:

Good luck doesn’t come by chance, if at all it does come to a man who is not ready it will quickly flee away just as it came. You must desire her blessing and keep your  eyes open for opportunities, see a need and meet that need and good luck is all yours.

QUESTION:

“To me, it proved to be an enemy, ever watching and waiting to thwart my accomplishmens”. Who made this statement and who is the enemy in this statement?
