This book is very timely and insightful. The writer lets us know that there are remote and immediate pointers that one is about to, or is already out of time with the master.

According to the writer there are some vital pointers to look at for when missing Jesus:

-WHEN GENUINE SPIRITUAL EXPERIENCES DEGENERATE INTO FEASTS AND CUSTOMS: A Christian loses Jesus from his life when the experience that changed many people’s lives in the past becomes an ordinary feast to him.

-WHEN YOU DO NOT INSIST ON MEASURABLE AND DISCERNABLE IMPARTATIONS EACH TIME YOU CONTACT SPIRITUAL THINGS: according to the writer it bothers him that there are men and women in our generation today that are drifting up and down . Millions in and out of churches and religious houses without a conscious experience or definite encounter with the Lord Jesus in their lives.

-WHEN YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH THE LORD IS NOT PERSONAL, BUT HINGED ON OTHER PEOPLE’S EXPERIENCES: this is when your Christian life becomes a company experience: ‘our church’, ‘our prayer meeting’…Talk about your personal life, about what is happening to you.

-WHEN YOU ARE CARELESS AND MAKE YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS A MATTER OF GUESSES AND PRESUMPTIONS: according to the writer this is a serious matter, many people have gone on and on in life, into courtship, even marriages, assuming that Jesus was with them.

-SEEKING FOR JESUS FROM A WRONG PLATFORM: this is seeking Jesus from the wrong crowd.

According to the writer there are steps to recovering your lost relationship with Jesus:

-Insist always on making your relationship with Jesus a personal experience.

-do not act in haste and presumption- always be properly guided.

-Repent, seek, and follow Jesus only in His terms.

-Turn back to where you veered off your spiritual journey.

The writer concluded by making reference to Samson and how his end was a tragedy. He was unable to fulfill his destiny because he was living in assumption without knowing that the Spirit of God had left him.
